We know that you want to have the perfect nursery, but make sure you always test drive your glider before you place it in your room. I'm definitely one to buy those shoes because they are so beautiful, but regret it the minute I decide to wear them out at night. It's really important that you buy your glider/recliner based on the comfort rather than how it looks in the nursery. At 2:00 am, who cares how beautiful it looks....comfort always wins.

Comfort:
Check that the glider chair is the right size:
Make sure your feet touch the ground.
You want the arm rest to be at a height suitable for nursing.
Place your head back on the chair and make sure it's not hanging over.
Have the hubby test the glider also. You can still have a girl's night out even though you are nursing. Isn't modern technology grand?

Movement:
Make sure the glider has a long and fluid motion. The nice feature about a glider is that it doesn't move across the nursery like a traditional rocker.

Most importantly, make sure you practice getting up out of the chair that you choose. Pretend you are holding the baby and if you have a hard time getting out, it might not be the chair for you. Just remember that you are going to have a sleeping baby in your arms after gliding and you would hate to wake them up while trying to pull yourselves out of your chair.

BTW...we offer Ultrashield as an option on our gliders. It's well worth the investment and will save your glider from the horrendous spots that can happen once your child starts eating "people" food.
